    Also, stat increase potions already exist in vanilla, they're just *extremely* rare. See http://forums.runicgames.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=7615 and http://torchlight.wikia.com/wiki/Potions_(T1) for details.

    I'm using the GOG version of Torchlight. I don't know where to begin for installing TorchED… But more to the point, I've been tiptoeing around the actual goal with the interest of "secrecy until it's done". Obviously, with my complete lack of coding skills, I'll need to be a little more explicit about my goals here. This whole idea started with the phrase "Ember-eater". I was walking home last week, thinking about Torchlight, and my brain made a random logic leap between the reality of "arsenic eaters" and the lore of Torchlight. My original idea, as it came to me on that walk, was of a class with the ability to consume raw ember. The use of this ability provided more power than any study—but at the cost of any capacity...

    Hi LordNyriox! What you describe is essentially the same behavior as potions (single use, gives you some permanent effect). Altho the way standard potions are set up, there is 1 potion for each specific effect. If you were thinking this is the way players will progress, you'd have to write-up a specific potion for each level (or its equivalent) in your mod. And if you multiply that by however many stats you want to affect... you get the picture ;) Now I know you can have effects work off of graphs in TL2 (not sure about TL1) and it might be possible to write out the effect so that it's "modified" by a graph, so you wouldn't have to code-up so many potions. Unfortunately I don't know much about using graphs (let alone making new ones)...

    Does "disenchant" delete the item entirely, or simply remove properties? I'm hoping for a method that can force-delete gems and quest items as well. The actual goal is to develop an "alternate leveling" system, where experience is not gained, but by "consuming" gems and certain quest items (i.e. "eating" ember), this spell would add stats to the player permanently (but different for each type of gem). A lookup table was simply the first thing that came to mind for the effect I'm describing. I don't want EVERY item to be affected, just the ones that provide flavor. Hence the specific ID association I wanted. ...On the other hand, I can barely write a batch script, let alone a line of code.

    :topsy_turvy: This is a gag mod which adds codpieces and chastity belt items to the game. It's a port of the same mod I made for TL1 a long time ago. At the time, I made it to fulfill a request (here's the original post: http://forums.runicgames.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=21392) Adds 6 codpieces and 6 chastity belt items for the TL2 game.
