It’s been a while since I have had the pleasure of doing this, but today I have the privilege of introducing to you the two latest RGF staff members! I’m really excited about having these two people on staff, because it will mean more content and updates for you, our loyal visitors.
First up we have Jerich! You may recognize him from the official Runic Games forums, where he often posts some rather lengthy analysis and idea pieces. He first caught the community’s eye when he managed to play Torchlight before its release at PAX, and wrote up a very long and informative preview of the game. Since getting all that attention he decided to turn his creative talents towards helpful posts in the forums, including analyses on Experience Sinks, Fairness in PvP, Why People Quit Playing the Single Player Torchlight, a proposal for an idea called Moonlighting, and a series on Who Plays and Pays for MMOs.
Starting this month, Jerich has volunteered to join us at RGF as our Column Writer. In his free time he’ll compose analyses and other articles for the site about Torchlight related topics, and we’ll release each as a series of manageable chunks for your enjoyment. Welcome, Jerich!
Next up is Mayo, but you may better recognize him and the mind behind the popular Torchleech program! We featured his program a few weeks ago as a recommended download for those of you who like trying out various mods, but had trouble with identifying mod conflicts. After some communication between Mayo and I on how to improve cooperation between Torchleech and our Torchlight Mods Database, we decided to pair up and do the most we can for both sides!
As of today, Torchleech is officially hosted at http://torchleech.runicgamesfansite.com. You won’t have to worry about Torchleech losing any functionality, because all of the links to his old server now redirect to an identical setup over here. If you were afraid that RGF might try to do some underhanded exclusivity agreement and future versions of Torchleech might lose mods that are not found in our own Mod Database, fear not! We love Torchleech’s functionality as much as you do, and have no plans to cut it down in any way.
We are also providing an area in the forums for all your Torchleech needs, so if you have any comments, suggestions, problems, etc., OR if you want to help with the development side of Torchleech, go post in the forums! Welcome Mayo and Torchleech!
Be sure to check back here for information about new versions and updates to Torchleech, and for new articles and analyses! Feel free to stop by the forums and say hello to our newest staff members:
