Hello, friends call me heyub, cs, or peps, call me what ever you like, as those three are just a few of my nicknames.
I bought torchlight because it was so much like the demo of fate I played at a friends house. I found out shortly after I bought it it was made by the same people, which was quite a pleasant surprise.
I have a fair amount of modding experience with a game called tremulous, which is built on the quake3 engine. I mostly did mapping for it, but I also did some work on HUD's. I did some coding, namely C. I had attempted to learn how to model with blender, however I grew frustrated and eventually lost interest. I was attempting to learn C, but in the casual environment I found myself playing games more than studying C. More recently I was going to take a programming class this year but my Mom decided it was better I take a language classes.
I knew torchlight had mods but didn't think much of it as most games that include mods are very limiting to a novice. I was quite surprised to find the novice-friendliness of the modding system while still allowing quite a bit for complex mods. Up until this point I have only bothered to modding open-source games (Such as tremulous.)
I hope to dig back into modeling in hopes of getting a grip of it with new found interest. I might also get back into coding- but I don't know the language torchlight uses, and in the present I am only interested in learning C.
If you have managed to read through that massive block of text I congratulate and thank you.
P.S. Special thanks to Webbstre who dragged me here from steam, to runic games, to runic games fansite.
