    More Site Updates

Hey all, only two weeks after the last set up updates I've installed a few more. This one featured a core vBulletin update, which included a new editor interface! I'm still figuring out how to make all the options work and how to get it all pretty looking, but you should be able to use it now in some form anywhere on the site.

One excellent feature of this new editor is Auto-Saving! Every sixty seconds your post will be saved as a draft to prevent any funkiness destroying your hard work. Nice, eh?

I'm aware that there are some buttons that need to be fixed and I'm not even sure how to switch between WYSIWYG and BBCode modes, but let me know if you have any problems in this thread.

    Re: More Site Updates

So..... here's a small update on what I'm doing with the site right now. Although moving to a new server fixed 90% of our speed problems, it does still appear that there is a rogue script somewhere that is trying to rain havoc upon the server, which if left unchecked could mean downtime in the future, as it did before the server switch. I was hoping that this last batch of updates would correct it, but apparently it was something else, so I have to do a one-by-one disabling of features until I find which thing needs to be turned off to bring the server back to normal for more than a break of a few hours.

In case that is rambling and doesn't make sense, here is what I'm going to do. One piece at a time, I will disable a part of the site, leave it for a day or two to watch the server behavior, and then depending on whether or not I find more CPU spikes I'll either turn the feature back on (meaning it was not the source of the problem) and disable the next one, or I'll leave it off, report back here, and tell the author of the add-on that their script needs fixing/troubleshooting.

The first script I am disabling is the not-yet-implemented-but-already-installed Postbit tabs (the thing that will shrink the mini user profile next to forum posts into a clickable set of tabs - like we had months ago before I had to disable a similar add-on)

Nope, no luck.... gonna see how much it costs to hire someone to just come in and fix everything.
