      portal troubles

      Hello and thanks for taking the time to read this.

      ok ran into a major bug i dont know how to fix. i have a npc that sells a scroll to get to my new city and when you use it and do stuff there its all good as long as you dont leave through the portal i have in the new town to go back to torchlight. when you do leave through that portal and not through a town portal scroll or spell, and use my scroll to go back to my city it starts you all over map is blank. then when you try and do anything like go finish quests or what not it starts my main quest all over again and freezes the game.

      Is there any way to make it so this does not happen?

      Thanks in advance for any help i hope it doesn't sound too confusing

      Hmmm... I seem to remember other people having this problem before, but I'm not sure if anyone found a way around it. Maybe AttackGorilla?

      well changed it back to what i started with when i first started making the city, a waypoint gate that seems to fix the issue im having but i guess still need to find a better solution cause 'Omnifas' said on the runic forums that there is a limit of 9 entries for the waypoint thing and its for the main quest line.

      Unfortunately IIRC the Waypoint UI is built only for the exact amount of waypoints it has now for the main campaign(9). You could add a portal to Torchlight though.
      so yeah guess still trying to figure this out, oh and its raining hell here so having a bad day :P

      I thought one of the later patches made it so you could add more waypoints. You might want to look into that a little more.

      yup will look into after work tomorrow, that would be SWEET if they did do that but havn't finished the game yet my self to test

      guess when i release version 1.1 for solitude ill find out if any have issues

      i did see the waypoint menu seems like it would hold more then 9 but cant tell right now lol

      EDIT: HELL YES! they did change it in the 1.15 update to 50 waypoints
      ok now back to making quests now that i know that issue is solved :P

      Lol, cool beans my friend. Although a word of caution with the waypoints....I think that things need to be structured a certain way (I don't know if it's logic or what) for the waypoint system to be used for added content. Other people have set up extended storyline campaigns or separate campaigns (like Rashnu's Tear) that utilize the waypoint system and for some reason quests get broken easily. Its never been confirmed that the added waypoints do this, but it is suspicious that it happens more often with added content using the waypoints.

      Or it could be completely unrelated *shrug* who knows really? If it works fine as a solution and tests okay, then YAY FOR U (and us for more content).

      thanks ramli for the heads up on 'possible' quest breaks will try some tests and if all seems good ill keep the waypoint set up but otherwise if it screws up guesss ppl will only be able to use 2 way portals to leave and enter solitude that way. unless you go there finish all the quests and then go back to the normal game areas. I 'hope' it works with the first option.

      i had tried that for 5 min or so in game but till i get way more quests put into solitude and get my main quest thing figured out more i think its best to keep it as an added area not a replacement
