Who needs a sword when you have a gun?

Ahhh thats right! Im not one of those typcial primitive barbarians who run around with swords, axes or other big pointy/blunt instruments of death! Its much more civilised to shoot both pistols and run away like a scared lil girl. Im no powerhouse but I must admits its a lot of fun.

I have yet to max out my skills and if anyone has tried a build similar to this let me know! In fact post any ranged destroyer guides here, I love breaking cookie cutter builds.

    This is my goal

    Beserker
    Dual Weilding 10
    Adventurer 10
    Spectral Echo 10

    Titan

    Ranged Weapon Expertise 10

    Spectral
    Entropic Aura 10
    Shadow Bowman 10

Spells Haste and the one which increases attack speed, identify and portal

I found with this build I dont use a lot of potions, etc and most scrolls etc end up being sold to the vendor.

Re: Who needs a sword when you have a gun?

I have a destroyer that uses both a sword and a gun as a dual wield. This allows for ranged combat to prevent unnecessary damage intake, as well as close range combat for those tight situations. He isn't that far into the game, so his build is limited, but the main skill of his I use, other than the passive damage boosts, is the Titan Stomp. This allows for excellent crowd control, a bit of knockback, as well as dealing adequate damage.

However, for boss fights, I use my secondary set of weapons: shield + sword or gun (depending on boss and current situation). I find the shield necessary because of the increased damage from the boss.

Also, I usually give my pet a heal all spell, to help heal both the pet (instead of draining potions) and myself on occasion.

For sockets, I usually focus on Str and Dex for armors, and HP / MP stealing and recovery for weapons.

I prefer the Destroyers who use the AoE attacks, and usually max the first skill, several passives, and one of the later Stomps or the shockwave-type thing.

Guns are good, as it seems most range weapons are a lot easier to handle than sword, axes, and the like. Maybe that's just me. To be honest though, I prefer wands. Considering im a alchemist, I like to attack with elemental damage form far away, and staves weren't cutting it for me.

I prefer to play a Tank archetype, so I use a 1h with a shield, heavier armors when I can afford it and a motley of skills, currently level ten and loving it.

I prefer to use two 1h swords/axes. Your beginning skill, forget what it's called, attacks with both weapons, dealing massive damage, around 4.8k crits at level 32.

Re: Who needs a sword when you have a gun?

When I play the Destroyer I usually lvl the heck out of the slash skill (skill you start with) and the crit increase skill, and then Devastate (the one where he hits mulitple times). Devastate works great on Ordrak and end game map bosses, I've managed 16k attacks and 35-50k crits > at 50th and beyond. I usually dual wield swords cuz they're the fastest weps.

When I play a ranged destroyer (and sometimes I find that special pistol combo or rifle that deals more dam than melee weps), I try to use a fast rifle and socket it to deal extra ele dam of some kind.
