Those are two pretty big mods with some distinct conflicts, so not only will it take a long time for Torchlight to finish loading them, it won't load them correctly.

    Re: Problem with mods

also, I've noticed that hotspot creates more problems than it fixes with version 1.15 of Torchlight.

I recommend NOT using hotspot to install any mods at this point, and to install them manually or by using the mod editor instead. Hotspot works fine to test for conflicts though, and I like how it organizes the mod lists still.

    here's another tip:

create a backup of your mods folder, and as you add mods, and it looks like they work, copy the entire mods folder content (everything) to your backup folder. then, if you add a new mod that breaks something, simply delete your main mods folder, create a new one, and copy everything over from your backup.

it's what I've been having to do as I run into various mods that are missing resources, the resources conflict with the current version of the game, etc.

    Re: Problem with mods

Would you like to be more specific on what you think is wrong? Other than class and pet menu modification, there's nothing HotSpot changes from the RGF database itself. Everything is pulled directly, and for the (many) people who have trouble figuring out to make things work manually it is too useful to brush off as to suggest that no one should ever use it.

I'm not gonna say that the program is perfect, and there's a ton more we would love to do if our full time jobs and families didn't take so much of our time, but it's kind of insulting on our end when you say that most of the problems are HotSpot's fault. If there are conflicts between mods then that would be either be the fault of the mod authors or just the natural hazard of mixing mods with a game. If things are outdated within the mod files then that would be because they are old. How is manually installing going to fix it?
