    Mod causing overpowered bows?

In fact I'm pretty sure it is. I've done a search for this, but unfortunately my problem is very specific.

I'm pretty new to Torchlight, but as soon as I got to around level 5 with the game's basic warrior class, I already started downloading all the mods, the main reason why I bought the game.

Right now though, I'm having a problem that I wasn't seeing before, unmodded. With mods now, using the custom Guardian classes, In level 5, (when the environment starts changing for the first time, after the blue caves) there are certain skeletal archers that are EXTREMELY overpowered. As if my class has a weakness to arrows or something. Normally I'll get hit by any of the mobs my level for like maybe 30-70 or so life, but one hit from these arrows and i getting hit from anywhere between 450-600 dmg each. My character is only about level 7, with about only 700 max HP...so yeah, not fun. And I'm wearing some decent armor I would think, at least what the game is offering me. This problem was not here when I was playing the game unmodded, so here are the mods I'm using right now, in this order:

    NE-AlwaysIdenfitied
    AddtionalGemAvailabilty
    AlchemistSkills
    BrighterMap
    DestroyeSkills
    Gems
    General Skills
    I Am Death Incarnate
    LevelCaps
    Merchant Pack
    Mob Weapons
    Mods
    NeverMaps
    Pets
    Rebuild Potions
    SmallFontV1.31
    Spell Dealer
    Tier3 Ancient
    TownExtras
    2hander mod v2
    HunterTanker
    Guardian
    Potion Deluxe
    Life Increaser Potion
    Bigger Potions & Stacksize
    2HandedSwords

Yikes, is there a copy load order to clipboard function in Torchlight? Anyway, I"m using the Guardian class in this case, and he is just taking a seroius beating from those arrows. The I Am Death Incarante mod, which I feel is the culprit, is basically raising the difficulty of the game which I downloaded because I read the game's default difficulties just increase how hard the game is but without increasing the rewards as well. The game is indeed harder but if it's throwing in those instant death arrows in the mix of normal damage enemies at such an early stage in the game, that's just stupid. I'm playing this in "Very Hard," or the second difficulty. (I'm saying that because the description of the mod says it changed "Easy" and "Normal" to NIghtmare and I am Death Incrante, which is difficulties 3 and 4 respecitvlely. Doesn't the author mean Very Hard and Insane mode, since those are the last two difficutlies? The mod has it setup as Hard, Very Hard, Nightmare, and Death Incarnate. I don't know, it's confusing. I know this mod is supposed to increase the difficulty, but I also wasn't expecting to face 3 or 4 monsters at once that can all fire projectiles at me that can kill me in one or two hits either. The author says instant kills are common in Death Incrante mode, which is not what I'm playing in.)

The majority of this mods was taking from a mod called Sin or something I found here, it was just a zip file with a lot of those mods. Others I've downloaded separately. Any suggestions?

    Re: Mod causing overpowered bows?

I'd say if you are playing Very Hard with a difficulty raising mod installed that is all the explanation you need. It could also be a factor of the custom class you are playing... well it is probably a combination of everything. Did you try removing the mods, removing any town portals you had up and play some other dungeons or dungeon levels to see if the dungeon would reset and make it any easier?

The thing is the Death Incarante mod is a very bland description, it says it's harder but not in details. (Why spawn such monsters in the middle of nowhere amongst weak ones?)

I tried disabling the mod, but to no avail, though I didn't get it to reset though. Will try again with all mods disabled after work.

Finally got to test this out again....yup, I feel a bit dumb, bit it is the Death Incarnate mod. I originally had this mod in because it prevented vendor/white items from ever dropping again, making every drop worthwhile. (Green and up.) It increased the difficulty JUST right for me, but I don't understand the decision for such overpowered bows thrown right in the mix amongst weak monsters...it makes no sense at all.

Could have been a typo... like an extra digit in the damage for that monster that gave it ten times the attack power.
