    Who Works at Runic Games?

It is a slow week so far, if you aren't at GDC (if you are there, find the guy with the mohawk hair, it might be Taylor Balbi), but I found a bit of info that is worth sharing. Last December Runic Games updated their website with a holiday greeting and a list of the people working there at the time. Yesterday I stumbled on a new name that isn't on the old list, and from there I have found information on various peoples' LinkedIn profiles stating their job titles and histories. I won't post the direct links here, but here is a uncomplete list of who some of the people are at that Fort Knox we call Runic Games (in no particular order) :

    Max Schaefer
    CEO
Before Flagship, he was Vice President of Blizzard Entertainment for 7 years!

    Erich Schaefer
    Designer
Brother to Max, he was Vice President of Blizzard North for 10 years.

    Travis Baldree
    President
Before working on Mythos he developed Fate at WildTangent.

    Kyle Cornelius
    Concept Artist
Previously a Junior Concept Artist for Mythos at Flagship Studios.

    Marsh Lefler
    Software Engineer/Developer
Like Travis, he previously worked at Wild Tangent as well. He was one of the original programmers for Mythos in the first year and a half of production.

    Adam Perin
    3D Technical Artist
Another former Flagshipper, he has over 7 years of experience doing 3D art.

    Mike Fisher
2d Artist - Textures and UI Design
Another person who worked at FSS, there weren't a lot of details on him.

    Matt Uelman
    Noisemaker
He worked at Blizzard for 12 years, and is the one responsible for the unforgettable Tristram theme from Diablo.

    Wonder Russell
    Office Manager
While at Flagship she did Quest Writing, Event Planning, HR Coordinating and more.

    Brock Jones
    Producer
Formerly worked at Wild Tangent and Flagship Studios. What does he do? Well here is a clip from his profile: Setting up the office network, configuring network security appliances, establishing an email server, implementing a source control system, developing a continuous-integration build system, creating a build distribution tool, installing a defect tracking system, purchasing hardware and software, cleaning dishes... The works

    Matthew Lefferts
    Animator
Former Animator for everything on Mythos, he now is "responsible for the creation and management of animation content for all projects at Runic Games."

    Patrick Blank
    Senior Level Designer
He previously worked as Level Designer and Lead Level Designer at Gearbox Software and Running With Scissors. First game he worked on was Postal 2: Apocalypse Weekend

That is all the info I was able to find on LinkedIn for now. I am sure there are more people I couldn't find and I apologize if there are any mistakes (spelling or content-wise).

Do you know anything else about the works or accomplishments of these people? Feel free to share and show appreciation for them here! (You know they are watching)

Re: Who Works at Runic Games?

Small Update, a few more names... I am totally not a stalker.

    John Dunbar
    Game Designer
    Former employee of FSS and Wild Tangent… and a really cool guy nice enough to let us interview him ^^;

    Jason Beck
    Studio Art Director
Worked on Fate and Mythos, and has been doing game art for over a decade.

    Gregory Brown
    Tools Engineer
FSS and Wildtangent history… (it is difficult to write the same thing for so many people in different ways)

    Kevin Green
Fluid Entertainment : D&D Character Generator
WildTangent: Fate, plus a ton of casual games
    Turn 10 studios: Forza 2
    Flagship : Mythos
    Runic Games: Title: Artist/Generalist

    Peter Hu
*No current profile info available… best guess is that he is a Technical Officer if he is with Runic Games right now. (Updated info from the forums) "Peter Hu is a Blizzard North (2000-2003?) veteran and also worked with the Schaefers in the Flagship SF office. He was the main person behind the Diablo II 1.10 patch, which addressed many endgame, stability and balancing issues."

    Leo Miller
*I couldn’t find anything here either.

    Ian Welke
    QA (Quality Assurance) Manager
Formerly worked at Blizzard as well. I believe his job includes being responsible for making sure patches in a beta are delayed in order to make sure they don’t completely crash our computers.

Soon you will have the entire mob of Politically Correct people after you!

Me? I'd totally play a Postal 3 if it caused such commotion again only to upset all the PC-people a bit extra. >

And I think I'll have to study up on you guys so i know who to blame when things is not good enough!

I found so many Kevin Greens... but not one of them appeared to be you, unless you secretly work at a hospital or are a school principal as your main job. Feel free to tell us what you do :-P

    ? ? ?
Edit by Webbstre: It is maybe a little stalker-ish to track down peoples' Amazon wishlists... and what we really want is to know what job he does and what he has done... not what WoW book he wants to buy O0
