    Ultimate Fishing Mod Desired

    Hey guys,
    I've played both TL 1 and TL 2. Playing TL1, there was an ultimate fishing mod where you could basically fish for almost any monster in the game, even bosses. There were several new types of fish introduced which corresponded with the new monsters. It even allowed you to find fish for the classes as pets although they were somewhat limited I think and would causes problems when trying to change them to a new pet.

    I know there are mods that add new pets including the characters. However, I am a huge random chance enthusiast and prefer I don't know which pet i'm going to be stuck with for the entire game until I fish for it first thing after character creation. I would love to see the fishing mod either ported over or recreated for TL2. I'm hoping someone has connections to the guy that made this or can make their own.

    Note this also added a crap ton of new classes. Those would just be a bonus I guess since I can get new classes for TL2 now. However having them all in 1 file is really helpful.

    I honestly haven't seen @Darkfirebird around in some time. He might still be around. Whether he is or not, I'm betting once the official modding tools are released something like this will come about. It might take a while, but I'd keep checking back - either that, or learn how to mod it yourself

    I have actually been working on a mod with the sole (pardon the pun) purpose of enhancing fishing in TL2. I am in the process of moving right now so it's been kind of slow going. hopefully I can have part of it up shortly.

    (Relating to comments above about fishing mods) My modding skills are, as of yet, somewhat limited. This is partially due to the lack of the GUTS editor. (being unable to create a new UNITTYPE is a killer for some of the things I want to do) However if there are any particular things you would like included in such a mod, I would be willing to give it a shot if i can.

    Hey bud I'm glad you are willing to give it a shot. I don't understand why the test tools are not available yet. Hmmm. My comments pretty much sum the ideal mod up but I'd suggest installing that mod for torchlight 1 and starting a new char then fishing for your new pet. See how the new fish types you get, correlate to the types of monsters they turn into. Imagine rolling a new char and getting a huge ogre boss to start your journeys. Lol you get the idea. Balance would of course be essential. Thanks for considering the challenge! Hmmm I just thought of another mod I'd like to see from TL1. New thread coming...

    Cool. I haven't really messed with pets too much just yet to be quite honest, but there is no better time to start messing with it I suppose. I should have the bare-bones of my fishing mod up today which unfortunately doesn't involve any new fish or pets just yet. So now transformation fishies would be a perfect new addition to it so I will go ahead and put that into the to do list for it's future functionality. I spent most of the night playing TL1 last night since it had been a while and was trying to collect ideas from the rather extensive number of mods that were made for it. From what I saw in Hotspot there is a LOT of ground that has not been covered in 2 yet so there is a lot to work with.

    I'm glad to hear GUTS is Finally out...........*golf clap*
    I see a few fishing mods out there. Nothing quite like I had experienced with Dark's mod but I'm a patient man and it's been out less than a month. I'm biding my time by playing around and learning Synergies mod which is entertaining. I'm excited that my other mod idea for durability on weapons and armor is well on it's way to becoming a reality.
